1. An inspiring or animating action or influence.
2. The drawing of air into the lungs; inhalation.
One word, two definitions.
To me both on the same level of importance, one can’t exist without the help of the other. They are bonded together just as close as those eleven letters have to be to create a word that makes sense. They personally and vitally cohere. While it seems to make perfect sense written black on white in a dictionary, transposed into life, inspiration is hard to define. This palpable transparency of creativity that fills ones lungs for a moment is bound to end in the expiration of a thought, in the exhalation of the exalted breath, in the the expiry of one gifted impulse…every time to give birth to a new one, another inspired but annihilative cognition.
Destined to a fragile existence, like everything else on this earth, the pear, just like me, is still hanging on to that one thing that holds its luck. While the pear found its growth potential in the warmth of the sun, the water and its natural surroundings, I found mine in the same things and in the inspiration of it all.
Art found itself in itself and I found myself in it too, floating here breathing and drawing, incapable of telling the difference between them anymore. Between floating, breathing and drawing. Do I paint to breathe or do I breathe to paint? I paint to understand.
If inspiration is the key to creation and creation, the door that leads us in and out of ourselves, may its porch be as welcoming for you as it has been for me. I came to this world with a key attached to my hand, for which I found the right door, the one that opens up to a world of inspirational beauty, an open field with a pear tree grounded in the middle, off of which the fallen fruits remind me every time that we are all hanging onto a dream and that we need to harvest its virtue and make it our own. ♥
